Vego Garden Regenerative Compost is a premium, restorative product designed to support your plants through a multitude of applications. When incorporated into the soil, this vegan compost improves soil health and tilth while increasing the organic matter content. When used as a topdressing for garden beds, it provides a boost of quality organic matter and promotes healthy plant growth. This aerated compost serves as an excellent seed starting blend, providing the perfect environment for germination and robust seedling growth. It can be used as a mulch for seedlings, to retain moisture, and further nourish delicate seedlings.

Meticulously screened through a ¼ inch screen to ensure a smooth and aerated texture, Vego Regenerative Compost is easy to work with, and beneficial for soil structure. Plus, it contains no synthetics, chemicals, artificial additives, or biosolids, reflecting our commitment to sustainable gardening practices and the earth. This formulation is rich in biochar, a hyper-stable, long-lasting form of organic matter that’s resistant to decomposition, and is designed to take your soil’s health to the next level. This means less soil shrinkage over time, and longer lasting improvements to your soil’s health.

Not only is our Regenerative Compost a powerful soil amendment, but it can also be used to make compost tea, enriching your plants with essential nutrients and promoting their overall vitality. Moreover, it serves as an excellent compost starter for those setting up new compost piles, jumpstarting the decomposition process and yielding nutrient-rich compost.

    Why Should You Use Compost?

What exactly is composting? Composting is the process of recycling plant waste into an organic material that you can use to improve your soil! It attracts beneficial organisms, helps with moisture retention, reduces the chance of soil erosion, and improves your soils over all health just to name a few of the benefits. It also helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and puts food waste to good use, making it a wonderful, sustainable option for new gardeners.

    So What Exactly is Biochar?

Biochar is a carbon-enriched biomaterial made by burning organic material in an oxygen limited process called pyrolysis. It can enhance your soil by increasing water retention, improving soil structure, and promoting soil nutrient bioavailability. The production of biochar is also a carbon-negative process, securing and storing carbon and reducing CO2 emissions. This is another great way to improve soil health and increase sustainability.

    From The Source:
    Farm Dirt Compost

    Meet Our Compost Crafters

Growing up, Danny Wilson's family had a family farm southeast of Houston. Over the years, they watched a next-door landfill grow from being tiny to giant. Along the way, the landfill's odor, dust, noise and leachate also grew from being annoying to the point of contaminating their water well and causing foul odors and standing water on large parts of the property.

That landfill left quite a mark on Danny and his family. Years later when Danny had the chance, he founded a family-owned composting company named Farm Dirt. This company gave Danny and his family the chance to be part of the solution in terms of reducing the need for landfills.

Farm Dirt recycles green waste such as leaves, brush and food waste usually shipped to landfills & transforms it into healthy soil products including compost, mulch & garden soils. Farm Dirt's carbon negative complete compost cycles also help combat climate change by sequestering carbon.

At Vego Garden, we consider it our great honor and privilege to support small family businesses like Farm Dirt who are committed to their communities and sustainability.
